Our Community Guidelines
This blog exists to be a safe, supportive, and respectful space for open conversation. Whether youβre reading quietly, sharing a thought, or contributing a guest post, these guidelines help protect everyone who takes part.
We kindly ask all members of our community to read and respect the following.
π± Who This Space Is For
- This blog is intended for parents aged 18 and over, carers, and community members.
- We welcome voices from all backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences.
- You do not need to be an expert or a confident writer β honesty and care matter more than perfect words.
π€ Respect First, Always
We ask everyone to engage with kindness and empathy.
Please:
- Speak from your own lived experience
- Respect that othersβ experiences may be different from yours
- Offer support without judgement, blame, or shame
- Disagree thoughtfully and respectfully when needed
We do not allow:
- Discrimination, hate speech, or harmful language
- Personal attacks, harassment, or intimidation
- Dismissive or minimising responses to someoneβs feelings or experiences
πΈ A Safe Space for Sensitive Topics
Many of the topics discussed here β such as pregnancy, mental health, hardship, grief, and wellbeing β are deeply personal.
Please remember:
- Share only what you feel comfortable sharing
- Do not pressure others to disclose more than they wish
- Avoid giving medical advice β personal experiences are welcome, diagnoses are not
If a post or comment feels sensitive, we encourage gentle language and compassion.
π‘οΈ Moderation & Safety
To help keep this a safe and welcoming space:
-
All comments, guest posts, and replies are moderated before being published
-
Moderation is done with care β not to silence voices, but to protect individuals and the wider community
-
We may edit or decline content that:
- Breaches these guidelines
- Shares identifying or unsafe personal information
- Could cause harm, distress, or misinformation
We may also close comments on some posts if discussion becomes unsafe or unhelpful.
β¨ Guest Contributions
We warmly welcome guest posts from parents (18+), carers, professionals, and community members.
- Posts should be respectful, honest, and aligned with our values
- We are happy to support contributors with gentle editing or structure if needed
- Contributors retain their voice β we never change the meaning of your words without consent
If youβre unsure whether your idea is suitable, please reach out β weβre always happy to talk.
π¨ Crisis Support
This blog is not a crisis service.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or distress, please contact:
- 999 in an emergency
- Your GP, midwife, or health visitor
- NHS services or local crisis support available in your area
We will also regularly share trusted information on how to access support.
πΌ Thank You
By being here, youβre helping build something meaningful β a community rooted in care, understanding, and respect.
Thank you for treating this space, and each other, with kindness.
With care,
Basch Helps CIC
