Meet Leena. We first met her when she was just 1 week old, fresh out of the oven and sleeping, and over time Leena grew & has gotten used to our volunteers, she coo’s & plays with us every time we pop over and is this months award winner.
She is adorable, always curious, always smiling and now almost 15 months and counting, all thats left is to see her take her first steps. We also would like to praise her mummy who despite her young age has shown so much courage, against all the drama’s she has faced in the past with her sole priority being Leena.
Temporary/Sheltered accomodation for a young & new single-parent has detrimental effects on their mental health & adversely affects their ability to nurture their child which can result in delays to their cognitive & motor skills development.
One of our roles is to approach, assess & assist vulnerable parents and help them rebuild through a transparent recovery plan that says YES to hope, life and baby bonding and says NO to isolation, anxiety and poverty.
