Support In Ealing
Ealing council has a range of support for those struggling with the rising costs. There is currently lots of support available including help with managing your finances.
The borough also has an online digital hub which provides information and support guides on how to access key services.
Local Welfare Assistance
Local welfare assistance is a discretionary support scheme. The fund is there to help people to try to maintain an independent life or for those facing an immediate financial crisis.
The local welfare assistance team can also help with debt advice, budgeting and improving chances of finding a job. Your financial award may be dependent on you attending a session to help in these areas.
Children Centres
Children’s centres mainly deliver services for young children. The Early Start Ealing 0-19 service offers support to young people in relation to teenage pregnancy.

Help with food
Access a local foodbank – referrals to a local food bank can be made via the local welfare assistance team.
Finding free or affordable food – the Ealing Food Partnership has produced a food map of nutritious, free or inexpensive food throughout the borough.
Borough food initiatives – search the Community Support Directory for food initiatives near you.
Discounts at supermarkets – over 60s can get a 10% discount on all in store products at any branch of Iceland on Tuesdays through the bonus card scheme.
Find your local food support group – information about the services provided and locations of nearby food banks and soup kitchens.
Help for Babies
Baby & Children Support
Ealing Baby Bank – Ealing’s Baby Bank, run by the Salvation Army provides a variety of clothes and essential items to families in need.
Help with childcare costs – If you have a two-year-old and are on a low income or receiving benefits, you are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week. Children aged three and four could be eligible for an additional 15 hours.
Free school meals – If you receive certain benefits, your children could also be entitled to free school meals.
NHS Healthy Start Scheme
