Having a baby should be one of the most joyous occasions and a life changing event that bears a wonderful path of warm emotion and to harvest as many memories as possible. But sometimes for many reasons things don’t pan out the way we plan them.
Our informal approach to free parental support is completely confidential and offer an array of services which act as an invaluable source of guidance, comfort and belonging in the hope that we can achieve a more positive outlook on parenting, achieving a healthy delivery and keeping your baby happy and safe.
At Basch Helps CIC, we believe in lasting relationships that go beyond just delivering our core emergency relief package to your newborn in fact we’ve never really shuttled off to the next delivery without checking on the welfare of both parent and child and whilst doing so many of our wonderful voluntary teams have been privileged to continue peer supporting both parent and children through additional home visits.
For us it’s really not a service it’s more an opportunity to break barriers and simply befriend you through the toughest of times or no matter the obstacles blocking you from giving your child or children the best possible start to life.
We’re not here to judge you, your home or financial situation it’s all about making a cuppa, sitting down listening to the problems at hand and supporting you with an action plan which can bring in real change leaving you to focus more on the baby.
Afterall we all at some point encounter difficult and challenging times often sometimes the problems seem endless and sometimes we can shy away at seeking help from friends, family or professionals ultimately making things too overwhelming to cope with resulting in neglecting the important things and without realising putting your new baby at harm.
By keeping quiet or ignoring the issues at hand your simply just adding fuel to the fire and things can rapidly escalate and this can have a very detrimental effect both physically and mentally.
Ultimately it will have an adverse impact on the stability of the home and may without even realising have a significant impact on the health and development of your children particularly newborns leading into their early years.
Our volunteers have the knowledge, compassion and experience to support you on a journey of hope and recovery from the minute you say ‘I need help’ whether we’ve just met you for the first time having delivered an AngelBox for your newborn or a few days later by calling our switchboard.
Befriending us is your choice but what you get is an enthusiastic, mood lifting bunch of volunteers who may have gone through the same hardships and issues your currently experiencing. Our ears and hearts will remain wide open and we’ll endeavour to work together to find solutions to your problems and try to cheer you up along the way with a few laughs.
The service is free and is embedded as part of our AngelBox community service and the best part is it’s your choice whether you need us short-term or long-term with the hope that having new friends who understand what your going through can enable you to nurture and bond with your child or children so that they can reach their full potential and grow harmoniously in an environment which builds on their social development and intellect.
Our new freephone number dedicated to AngelBox parents
As all AngelBox recipients know, when we knock on the door and meet you for the first time, despite how busy the day ahead is, there’s always time for a chat, to share concerns and to get know your family a bit better.
In fact, more than 50% of all our applicants regularly converse with their original delivery team and in a recent survey, 149 AngelBox parents gave our AngelBox volunteers a 9.8 out of 10 and we’ve come to realise an opportunity to extend the AngelBox journey to parents.
We’ve added a freephone number which alerts our more senior volunteers to your call who all will be more than happy to listen and try to support your parenting needs including signposting you to suitable support groups or professional organisations.
The freephone line shouldn’t be used for AngelBox enquiries.
