At Basch Helps supporting families and their children through our community services has been profoundly endearing over the last 4 years and along the way we as volunteers have had the pleasure in meeting, greeting & embracing many wonderful people, beautiful children and sharing some really emotional moments that will resonate with us forever all inspired by the privilege that has been afforded by the diverse array of London communities that live together.
Recently a team of volunteers decided to collate data on citizenship status, ethnicity and languages spoken. A project which aims to improve our volunteer recruitment programme & service delivery for 2025 and beyond whilst also ensuring that our stock of baby essentials remains fit for purpose and culturally acceptable, with an overall aim to make our community services as diverse and widely accepted as possible for the next generation of London newborn’s.
The city of London is a global community that keeps growing, its the strength that holds the fabric of our society, businesses and cultural achievements. Our findings showed that we’ve happily served families from over 60 countries and with over 107 languages or dialects spoken at home across Greater London.
We’ve charted it on a map of the world and we’ll be closely analysing our findings to continue to improve our overall service and capabilities. Bottom line we support as many as people as possible it really doesn’t matter in the slightest because everyone deserves a better, fairer and the brightest possible start to life.
For now support us by volunteering with us especially if you speak one of the following languages Arabic, Amharic, Chinese, Farsi, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Pashto, Punjabi, Portuguese, Somali Spanish, Swahili or Urdu.
