Hillingdon
Support In Hillingdon
Hillingdon council has a range of support for those struggling with the rising costs. There is currently lots of support available including help with managing your finances.
The borough also has an online digital hub which provides information and support guides on how to access key services.
Start with the Welfare Team
Hillingdon council understand the pressures many people are facing with the cost of living. The following schemes and programmes offer support to households in Hillingdon.
If you are a Hillingdon Council tenant and struggling financially, their welfare reform and tenancy support team may be able to help.
Where appropriate, their team can also:
- offer basic debt advice and direct you to specialist debt advice organisations
- signpost you to employment and training providers.
Family Hubs
Their friendly and welcoming family hubs and children’s centres provide families in Hillingdon with a wide range of services – all delivered within a caring and nurturing environment.
Children’s centres offer a range of services to support parent/carers and 0 to 5-year-olds.
They also have a great Start for Life offer for parents/carers, where you can find information, advice and support for the first 1,001 days (from conception to 2 years old) of a child’s life.
Help with food
Food banks
For those who are able to use them, we want to make sure that our foodbanks are operating well and that they have food supplies and volunteers to support them.

Nourish Hub
The Nourish Hub is a new community kitchen and space for local residents to meet and also receive culinary training.
It has been created by H&F Council by refurbishing a disused space on the ground floor of Swanscombe House at 1 St Ann’s Road on the Edward Woods Estate in W11.

The hub is run by food charity UK Harvest and provides opportunities for local people to come together to cook, eat and learn about how to eat more healthily.
Their services include:
- community lunch serving tasty, filling and warming meals at a price you choose
- free education sessions, helping you cook healthy meals for less
- volunteer to learn new skills and help your local community.
Help for Babies
Baby & Children Support
If you are more than 10 weeks pregnant or have a child under 4, you may be eligible for Healthy Start Vouchers, which help towards the cost of some fresh foods.
In addition your school-aged children may be eligible for Free School Meals.
Rose vouchers
Funded by H&F Council, the Rose Vouchers Project helps residents living in poverty with children under the age of five get fresh fruit and vegetables from local market stalls.
Claim a real nappy voucher
If you are pregnant or have a baby and live in H&F, you are entitled to one free real nappy voucher worth £45.
This can be used to purchase any real nappies and related accessories from the Washable Nappy Company.
